About the Artist
Raquel Roysdon was born in Richmond, California, and has made her home in Concord, California, for more than four decades. A devoted wife of 43 years, mother of two sons, and proud grandmother, creativity has always been woven throughout her life. Long before picking up a paintbrush, she expressed her artistic spirit through sewing and jewelry design.
Her journey into painting began in an unexpected and deeply personal way. After the loss of her beloved cat, Pookie, Raquel found comfort and healing by creating art on her iPad. What began as way to process grief soon became a calling.
Committed to developing her craft, she enrolled in the Milan Art Institute Mastery Program, where she immersed herself in the study of fine art and discovered her unique voice. Today, Raquel creates soulful, imaginative paintings where people, animals and memory intertwine. Her work invites viewers into quiet moments of wonder, beauty and emotional connection.
As Raquel says, "My brushstrokes takes me on a journey of wonder."
Working from her home studio, she shares the creative process behind each painting through videos, reels and posts with her growing community of followers and collectors. As her art business continues to flourish, Raquel dreams of opening a studio in her hometown - a welcoming space where creativity, connection and wonder can be shared with others.
A personal note
Thank you for visiting and for supporting original art. Each painting is part of an ongoing journey - of learning, expression, and discovery - and it is a privilege to share that work with you.
