At the Blue Threshold - Master

Getting ready for my 40 paintings Portfolio, I decided to paint this blue door with a woman for the beginning of my series, Woman and doors. 22x30 Oil on watercolor paper.

At the Blue Threshold portrays a quiet, intimate moment as a woman stands just outside her front door, crowned with flowers and wrapped in stillness. The deep blue doorway behind her suggests sanctuary and memory, while the floral elements – woven through her hair and blouse- symbolize identity heritage, and inner resilience.

Her lowered gaze and softened expression invite the viewer into a moment of introspection, as if she is pausing before stepping forward- or reflecting on where she has been. The contrast between the cool architectural blues and the warm, living florals creates a visual tension that mirrors the emotional space between protection and vulnerability.

This painting celebrates quiet strength, femininity, and the beauty of transition. It speaks to those moments when we stand at life’s thresholds – grounded, reflective, and becoming.
